Overview
This self-initiated project profiles a remarkable Los Angeles-based Mexican American artist and marionette performer. Raised in MacArthur Park and shaped by his immigrant experience, he found refuge and purpose through mentorship from legendary puppeteer Bob Baker. His story is one of transformation—escaping gang life and channeling his creativity into performance art.
Objective
Capture and share an intimate visual portrait of an underrepresented artist—highlighting his personal journey, cultural identity, and the healing power of craft.

3. Filmed live performances and studio work with marionettes
4. Shot documentary-style photography for editorial use
5. Edited and produced a short-form documentary film
